John N. Mach Sr., 81
ADAMS, Mass. - John Nathan Mach Sr., 81, of 10 Manners Ave. died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2006, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.
Born in Adams on Aug. 17, 1925, son of Paul and Josephine Mach, he attended local schools.
Mr. Mach was employed for many years by what was then Pfizer Co., retiring in 1987. Before that, he worked at the former Berkshire Mills and the former Emerson Construction Co. in Pittsfield.
He was a communicant of St. Stanislaus' Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing and mushrooming.
His former wife, Shirley Miller Mach, died June 10, 1994.
He leaves two sons, Steven P. Mach and his companion, Linda Scaiffre, of Palmer and Michael J. Mach and his wife, Elizabeth, of Adams; a daughter, Cynthia A. Lefebvre and her husband, Jeffery, of Adams; a sister, Jessie Pelczynski of Adams; six grandchildren, John and Julie Mach, both of North Adams, Christina McGrath and Alicia Mach, both of Adams, Laurie Mach of Connecticut and Steven P. Mach Jr. of Elizabeth, Colo., eight great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Another son, John Nathan Mach Jr., died July 31, 1972. He also was predeceased by two grandchildren, Jeffrey J. Mach and Michael Mach, and by three brothers, including Henry Mach.
FUNERAL NOTICE - The funeral for Mr. Mach will be Friday, Aug. 25, at 7 p.m. from AUGE-PACIOREK-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, MA 01220. Burial will be at a later date at the convenience of the family.
Calling hours will be Friday from 4 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorial donations may be made to the Adams Outdoorsman for Youth through the funeral home.
