Erminia Alida Zocchi, 91

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Erminia Alida "Amy" Zocchi, 91, of 54 Bradford St. died Monday morning, Nov. 1, 2004, at home.

Born in Rowe on March 8, 1913, daughter of Severino and Elisabeth Rosa Benedetti, she attended schools in Rowe and graduated from Arms Academy in Shelburne Falls. She also attended Bay Path Institute in Springfield. She moved to North Adams in 1931.

A homemaker, Mrs. Zocchi was employed by the former First National Bank and in the office of the former Wall-Streeter Shoe Co. before her marriage.

She was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church and a former treasurer of its Rosary Society, and worked many years at its annual bazaars. She was a Girl Scout leader at the former Mark Hopkins School and enjoyed reading and doing the New York Times crossword puzzle. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

She and her husband, Louis E. Zocchi, were married June 28, 1947, in St. Anthony's Church.

Besides her husband, she leaves two daughters, Louise A. Zocchi of North Adams and Mary E. Zocchi of Brookline; a son, William Zocchi of Pittsfield; a brother, Rudolph Benedetti of Ormond Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Alma Benedetti and Mary Caffrey, both of North Adams; five grandchildren, Anthony Zocchi and Nicholas Martin, and William, Matthew and Elisabeth Haney; and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Four brothers and sisters are deceased: William and Henry "Andy" Benedetti, and Livia Primmer and Dosolena Rhodes Law.

FUNERAL NOTICE — A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mrs. Zocchi will be celebrated Friday, Nov. 5, at 10:30 at St. Anthony of Padua Church by the Rev. Daniel J. O'Hear, pastor.Burial will follow in the family lot in Southview Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to VNA & Hospice of Northern Berkshire in care of FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247, which is in charge of arrangements.
