Shirley B. Irace, 80
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Shirley Beatrice Irace, 80, of 33 Lyman St. died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2005, at North Adams Regional Hospital after being stricken at home.
Born in Manchester, N.H., on May 17, 1924, daughter of Carl and Beatrice Henderson Floyd, she moved to Derry, N.H., and later to Barnard, Vt. She moved to North Adams as a teenager and was a 1942 graduate of Drury High School.
Mrs. Irace was employed by the former Cornish Wire Co. in Williamstown for about 15 years and by the former K-K True Value Home Mart as an interior decorator, retiring in 1986.
She was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church and a member of the Italian Catholic Girls' Club. She enjoyed knitting.
She and her husband, Henry E. Irace, were married May 7, 1946, in St. Anthony's Church.
Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, Louis H. Irace of Stamford, Vt., and Floyd E. "Chip" Irace of Port Orange, Fla.; a sister, Marvis LeSage of Swansea, and three grandchildren, James and Anthony Irace, both of North Adams, and Jennifer Irace of Cheshire.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mrs. Irace will be Tuesday, Feb. 15, at 12:30 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, followed by a funeral Mass at 1:30 at St. Anthony of Padua Church celebrated by the Rev. Daniel O'Hear, pastor. Burial will follow in Southview cemetery.
Calling hours will be Monday, Feb. 14, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Memorial donations to the Berkshire Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
