Lucille F. Baker, 77

ADAMS, Mass. — Lucille F. Baker, 77, of 19 Arnold St. died Sunday, March 14, 2005, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, following a long battle with cancer. Born in North Adams on Sept. 4, 1927, daughter of William T. and Marion Gauthier Green, she was a 1945 graduate of the former Adams High School. Mrs. Baker was employed as a librarian at the former Plunkett Intermediate School, now the elementary school. She also was a children's librarian at the Adams Free Library and school librarian at the former junior high school. She was a communicant of the Parish of Notre Dame-St. Thomas and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and the Rosary Sodality of St. Thomas' Church. She was also a member of the American Legion Post 160 Auxiliary. She was a longtime volunteer at BMC. Her husband, Donald A. Baker, whom she married Oct. 25, 1947, in St. Thomas' Church, died Nov. 5, 1994. She leaves a son, Daniel W. Baker of Trumbull, Conn.; a daughter, Marilyn A Brouillett of Beverly; two sisters, Claire D'Amico of North Adams and Doris G. Morey of Adams, and three grandchildren. She was predeceased by a grandson, Bryan Brouillett. FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mrs. Baker will be Thursday at 11:15 from MCBRIDE FUNERAL HOME. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will follow at noon at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, celebrated by the Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, pastor. A visitation period will be held Wednesday from 4 to 8 for family and friends at the funeral home. Following cremation, inurnment will be in Bellevue Cemetery at a date to be announced.
