Rose C. Oleskiewicz, 83
ADAMS, Mass. - Rose C. Oleskiewicz, 83, of 12 Weber St. died Friday, Aug. 19, 2005, at North Adams Regional Hospital.
Born in Hamden, Conn., on Oct. 17, 1921, daughter of Fredrico and Maria Iannati Carpentino, she attended schools there and worked on the family farm for many years until her marriage, when she moved to Adams.
A homemaker most of her life, Mrs. Oleskiewicz worked part time for J.T. Bus Lines in North Adams and was a waitress for several local diners.
She was a member of the Parish of Notre Dame-St. Thomas and enjoyed playing bingo and poker, and cooking.
Her husband, Herman J. Oleskiewicz, whom she married Feb. 19, 1939, died. Feb. 6, 1983.
She leaves five sons, William Oleskiewicz and his wife, Sandra, of the state of Florida, Paul Oleskiewicz and his wife, Celia, of North Adams, Alan Oleskiewicz and his wife, Peggy Anne, of Williamstown, Joseph Oleskiewicz and his wife, Barbara, of Adams and Peter F. Oleskiewicz of Tennessee; three daughters, Darlene Whitman and her husband, Gary, and Charlene Ouimet and her husband, Wayne, all of Adams, and Gloria Martin of North Adams; a brother, Anthony Carpentino of Cheshire; two sisters, Phyllis Gentile of West Haven, Conn., and Lucy Beebe of Waterbury, Conn.; 18 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two sons, Michael Oleskiewicz and Orville Oleskiewicz; a daughter, Victoria Moynihan; two brothers, Fredrico and Joseph Carpentino; a sister, Julia Ange Carpentino, and two sons-in-law, Roger Moynihan and Bernard Martin Sr.
FUNERAL NOTICE - The funeral for Mrs. Oleskiewicz will be Monday at 9 from TROTTIER-PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Summer St., Adams, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, celebrated by the Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, pastor of the Catholic Community of Adams.
Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery in Adams. Calling hours at the funeral home will be tomorrow from 5 to 8. Memorial donations may be made to the donor's choice through the funeral home.
