Anna Baker, 89
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Anna Baker, 89, of 45 Spring St. died Thursday evening, Dec. 21, 2000, in the emergency room of North Adams Regional Hospital.
Born in North Adams on April 6, 1911, a daughter of Nicola and Helen Rocco Siciliano, she attended schools in North Adams.
Mrs. Baker employed by the former Sprague Electric Co. for 19 years, until her retirement in 1973. She first worked in the city's shoe industry and then by the former Arnold Print Works.
She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church and a member of its Rosary Society. She was a member of the Sprague Quarter Century Club, the Italian American Club and a former member of the Sons of Italy.
Her husband, Daniel Theodore Baker, whom she married in St. Anthony of Padua in 1937, died during World War II on July 31, 1945.
She leaves her brother and sister-in-law, Dominic and Frances Siciliano of North Adams; nieces and nephews including Robert Siciliano of Salt lake City, Utah, Thomas Siciliano of Williamstown, Helen Siciliano Zauls of Watertown and Carol Morris of Pittsfield, and grandnieces and grandnephews.
A sister, Rose Van Patten, died on July 10, 1984.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mrs. Baker will take place Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 26, at 2 from St. Anthony of Padua Church, celebrated by the Rev. Daniel J. O'Hear. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery.
