Dorothy M. DeSanty, 78
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Dorothy M. DeSanty, 78, formerly of 78 Richview Ave., died Sunday, Feb. 19, 2006, at Williamstown Commons.
Born in Adams on May 30, 1927, daughter of Antonio W. Bellard Sr. and Lillian Eurbin Bellard, she attended schools there and in North Adams.
Mrs. DeSanty was employed by the former Sprague Electric Co. for 40 years, retiring in 1986.
She was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church and a member of the Sprague Quarter Century and Retirees' clubs and Jollee Circle Club.
She enjoyed playing bingo.
Her husband, Ernest Angelo DeSanty, whom she married March 17, 1947, died March 10, 1995.
She leaves two sons, Ernest A. DeSanty of North Adams and Vincent DeSanty of Deland, Fla.; two brothers, Antonio W. Bellard Jr. of Burlington, N.J., and Robert F. Bellard Sr. of North Adams; four grandchildren, Michael A. and Mark J. DeSanty, and Michelle and Jennifer Chalk; a daughter-in-law, Judith DeSanty; a former daughter-in-law, Beverly DeSanty; a sister-in-law, Helen Bellard, and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was predeceased by a brother, Roger Bellard, and three sisters, Marion Jones, Bessie Estes and Carol Bellard.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mrs. DeSanty will be Wednesday at 10:15 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 at St. Anthony of Padua Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Tuesday, Feb. 21, from 4 to 7. Memorial donations are suggested for the North Adams Ambulance Service through the funeral home.
