Rodney G. Moore, 57

CLARKSBURG, Mass. Rodney Grant Moore, 57, of 556 West Cross Road died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2006, at North Adams Regional Hospital after being stricken earlier at home. Born in Greenfield on Jan. 17, 1949, son of Dana Moore Sr. and Virginia Black Moore of Erving, he attended schools in Erving and graduated from Mahar Regional High School. An Army veteran of the Vietnam War, he served with the 101st Airborne as a sergeant. He received the Purple Heart, the Bronze Star and the Air Medal. At the time of his death, Mr. Moore had been employed by the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier at the Williamstown post office for more than 25 years. Before that, he was employed by Stewart Nursery as a landscaper in Turners Falls. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, the Vietnam Veterans Association, the U.S. Postal Union and Frank R. Stiles Post 125 American Legion in North Adams. He loved spending time with his family and friends and was a devoted and hard-working husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. He and his wife, the former Holly Lescarbeau, celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary July 29. They were married in Williamstown. Besides his wife and parents, he leaves four daughters, Melissa Denault, Hollyann Moore, Colleen Moore and Amber Moore, all of Clarksburg; a son, Rodney D. Moore of Clarksburg; a sister, Sandra Rindone of Erving; two brothers, Craig Moore and Dana Moore Jr., both of Erving; three grandchildren, Cory Roy, Melia Denault and Mollie Coury; his father- and mother-in-law, Edward and Kathryn Lescarbeau, and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mr. Moore will be celebrated Monday, Sept. 11 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, WEST CHAPEL, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247. Burial will follow in the family plot, with military honors in Clarksburg Cemetery, Clarksburg. Calling hours will be Sunday from 3 to 6. Memorial donations are suggested for the Vietnam Veterans Association through the funeral home.
