Clayton S. Cutting, 68
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Clayton Sumner Cutting, 68, of 120 Brooklyn St., died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2007, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.
Born in Wilmington, Vt., on May 27, 1939, son of Ethel Sumner Cutting Lee and the late Delbert Cutting, he attended schools in Vermont and Massachusetts.
An Army veteran of the Vietnam War, he served as a sergeant and was decorated with the National Defense service medal, the Vietnam Campaign, the Good Conduct and Vietnam Service medals.
Mr. Cutting was employed in the Buildings and Grounds Department at North Adams Regional Hospital.
He was a member of Florida Baptist Church and of the Clarksburg Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed dancing and antique cars.
Besides his mother, he leaves two daughters, Cristi Charron and Debra Alves, with whom he made his home, both of North Adams; two brothers, Harold Earl Cutting of Clarksburg, Lloyd Cutting of Goshen and Randy Lee of Pittsfield; three grandchildren, Kayla Cutting, Staci Cutting and Daniel Charron; two sons-in-law, Fran Charron and Toby Alves; two sisters-in-law, Ada Cutting and Linda Lee; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Services for Mr. Cutting will be on Friday at 10 a.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, with the Rev. Roy Burdick, Pastor of Florida Baptist Church officiating.
Burial will take place at a later date in the veterans section of Southview Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to the North Adams VFW in North Adams.
