Mildred Dean, 91

ADAMS, Mass. - Mildred Dean, 91, of West Falmouth, formerly of Adams, died Friday, Oct. 10, 2008, at the JML Care Center in Falmouth. Born in Adams on Dec. 20, 1916, the daughter of Justyn and Aniela Kocierski Wilk, she attended graduated from the former Adams High School. She also attended the former Bliss Business School. Mrs. Dean was employed by the former Montgomery Ward Co. and managed its catalog store on State Street in North Adams. She moved to West Falmouth in 1963 and was employed by the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute until her retirement in 1983. She enjoyed travel and working in her yard and was devoted to her grandchildren. Her husband, Cyril J. Dean, whom she married in November 1943, died on March 16, 1963. She leaves a daughter, Virginia D. Kussman and her husband, Dr. Michael J. Kussman, of Chevy Chase, Md.; a sister, Doree Marceau of North Adams; two brothers, Henry Wilk of Adams and Arthur E. Wilk Sr. of Williamstown; two grandchildren, Joshua D. Kussman and his wife, Laura, of Arlington, Va., and Deana Kussman and her husband, Steven Quan, of Bethesda, Md., and nieces and nephews She was predeceased by five brothers and one sister, Frank, John, Stanley, Theodore and Justyn Wilk and Sophie George. FUNERAL NOTICE — Graveside services for Mrs. Dean will take place Tuesday, Oct. 14, at 11 a.m. in Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown. There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations can be made to JML Care Center in Falmouth or to the charity of the donor's choice through Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247.
