Jocelyn E. LeClair, 15

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - Jocelyn Elizabeth LeClair, 15, of 29 Olds St. died Saturday, Aug. 18, 2001, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, where she was admitted after being stricken earlier in the day at home. Born in North Adams on March 20, 1986, daughter of Robert Alan and Mary Patricia DiLorenzo LeClair, she attended Greylock Elementary School and Silvio O. Conte Middle School. Ms. LeClair had recently completed her freshman year at Drury High School, where she was a member of the track and field team, specializing in the hurdles and long jump. She was a member of the varsity soccer and junior varsity basketball teams, and had received letters for achievement in soccer and track. She was an active member of the Students Against Destructive Decisions at Drury, and acted as a mentor for the DARE Program in summer work at the Northern Berkshire YMCA this year. She also was a member of the North Adams Girls' Basketball League. An accomplished dancer, she completed dancing instruction at Karen's School of Dance in Adams and participated in annual recitals. She was a lifelong communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Church, where she was an altar server. In her younger years, she was active in the Marty's T-Ball and Hoosac Tunnel Soccer leagues. Besides her parents, of North Adams, she leaves her paternal grandfather, John Edward LeClair of North Adams; her maternal grandmother, Dorothy Alderman DiLorenzo of North Adams, and her maternal great-grandparents, Francis and Shirley Willette Alderman of Clarksburg. FUNERAL NOTICE - The funeral for Ms. LeClair will be Wednesday, Aug. 22, at 10 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, followed by services at 11 at Notre Dame du Sacre Coeur Church, East Main Street, North Adams. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. Calling hours will be Tuesday, Aug. 21, from 4 to 8 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested for the Jocelyn E. LeClair Memorial Scholarship Fund through the funeral home.
