Edmond M. Brazeau, 88

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - Edmond Marcel "Pete" Brazeau, 88, of 18 Harwood St. died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011, at Sweet Brook Care Centers surrounded by his family. He had been in good health until a recent fall at his home. Born in North Adams on June 22, 1922, son of Edward and Rachel Perrault Brazeau, he graduated from Drury High School and received his teacher certification from Westfield State College and Fitchburg State Teachers College. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was honorably discharged. Mr. Brazeau was an instructor at McCann Technical School in North Adams, teaching metal fabrication theory, for 22 years until his retirement in 1986. He had first been employed for 24 years at the former James Hunter Machine Co., now Berkshire Morrison, in North Adams. He was a communicant of Sts. Patrick & Raphael's Parish. He was a member of the Massachusetts and McCann teachers associations and served on the negotiation committee at McCann. In his younger years, he enjoyed bowling and golf. Later on, his favorite pastime was watching national sporting events on television. He thoroughly enjoyed cooking meals for himself, family and friends. His wife, the former Bernice Mason, died on Feb. 4, 2007. He leaves three daughters, Bernice Schwartz and her husband, Michael, of Austin, Texas, Barbara Boyer and her husband, Robert, of Lake Anna, Va., and Rebecca Ryan, and her husband, Tom, of North Adams; two sons, Peter M. Brazeau and his wife, Virginia, of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., and Thomas M. Brazeau of Adams; two brothers, Paul Brazeau and Eldor G. "Pete" Brazeau, both of North Adams; two sisters, Roma Morris and Beatrice Bissaillon, both of North Adams; 10 grandchildren, Hannah Wood, Sarah Solomon, Darah Whyte, Carla Lehan, Robert P. Boyer, Kristen Gruodis, Jason Brazeau, Jeanine Brazeau, Kaitlin Cornell, and Michael Ryan, 11 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. His brothers Valmore, Vincent, Raymond, Charles and Francis Brazeau predeceased him. FUNERAL NOTICE - Services for Mr. Brazeau will be Monday, Feb. 21, at 10:15 a.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 from St. Patrick's Church, Williamstown. Burial will be in the spring in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude's Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
