H.C. 'Sonny' Devio Jr., 62

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Homer Clarence "Sonny" Devio Jr., 62, of 153 Corinth St. died Thursday, Nov. 24, 2011, Thanksgiving Day, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in North Adams on May 12, 1950, son of Homer and Dorothy Daniels Devio, he attended schools in North Adams including, Drury High School and McCann high achools. Mr. Devio owned or was associated with the family businesses of Devio Roofing Co., Northern Berkshire Contracting and, lastly, with Four Suns Contracting Co. for many years. He was a longtime member of the Masonic Lodge in Adams. He loved spending time with his family. He leaves his wife, the former Anne Gingras, whom he married Feb. 14, 1977, in Adams; a daughter, Sunny Devio of North Adams; three sons, Daniel "D.J." Stansfield of Savoy; Eric Stansfield of Cheshire and Ryan Devio of North Adams; a sister, Donna M. Giron and her husband, Gustavo A. Giron Sr., of North Adams; eight grandchildren, Sierra, Hannah, Logan, Kaylee, Aaron, Damon, Jaslyne and Jayla, who was born this year on his birthday; his mother-in-law, Mildred Gingras of North Adams; brother- and Sister-in-law, Robert and Sharon Gingras of Cheshire; two godchildren, Gustavo Giron Jr. and Leah Sherman, and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by his son Nickolas Devio, who died May 1, 2006. FUNERAL NOTICE — Private graveside services for Mr. Devio will take place at the family plot in Southview Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. In Lieu of flowers memorial donations are suggested through the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247.
