Esther M. Critelli, 90
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Esther Mary Critelli, 90, of 19A Veazie St., formerly of 21 Adams St., died Friday, April 6, 2012, at North Adams Regional Hospital.
Born in Italy on April 18, 1921, a daughter of Salvatore and Elena Corrente Bua, she came to the United States at the age of 6 months and her family settled in North Adams, where she attended schools.
Mrs. Critelli was employed at Shapiro & Sons Co. in North Adams for 28 years and also assisted in the operations of the family owned business at the Corner Market. She first worked at the former Clark Biscuit and Sprague Electric companies, and was last employed at the Freight Yard Pub until 2004.
She was a communicant of the former St. Anthony of Padua Church.
Her husband, Albert Critelli, whom she married Feb. 3, 1939, died Nov. 1, 1992.
She leaves her son, Ralph A. Critelli of North Adams, with whom she made her home; three sisters, Mary Pinkall, Rose Richard and Madeline Andrews, all of North Adams; three brothers, John Bua of Adams and Carmen "Gus" Bua and Salvatore "Sam" Bua, both of North Adams; a daughter-in-law, Gail Critelli of North Adams; four grandchildren, John, Christine, Scott and Jennifer; two great-grandchildren, Joseph and Cara, and nieces and nephews.
Her son James Critelli died July 17, 2004.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Funeral services for Mrs. Critelli will take place Tuesday, April 10, at 10 a.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, with the Rev. Christopher Richard, her nephew, as the celebrant. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Tuesday morning from 9 to 10 at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested in her memory through the funeral home.
