Christopher R. Ryan, 53

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Christopher Robin Ryan, 53, of 150 Ashland St. died suddenly Tuesday, April 17, 2012. Born in Adams on Feb. 17, 1959, son of William P. Ryan and Eleanor Remillard Ryan Drury, he attended schools in Adams and Whitewater, Wisc. Mr. Ryan left home at a young age and traveled throughout the country. His experiences included working in migrant camps to luxury resorts, finally settling back in his hometown area. He enjoyed the outdoors, bartering and "sealing the deal," music and shopping for unusual items. Though shaped in many ways by difficult and challenging life experiences, he never lost the essential sensitivity, gentleness and empathy he was born with. His humble demeanor belied a quick and intelligent mind, said family. He had many friends and was known for his easy-going and friendly nature. He leaves two sisters, Holly Ryan-Moore and her husband, Bill, of Woodbury, Minn., and Mary Dell Ryan of Walled Lake, Mich.; a brother, W. Peter Ryan, of Thailand, and several nieces. His brother Timothy Ryan, with whom he had a very close and extraordinary relationship, predeceased him. FUNERAL NOTIC —The funeral for Mr. Ryan will be Monday, April 23, at 11 a.m. from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery in Adams. Calling hours will be Monday morning from 9 to 11 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice in care of the funeral home. From Tim to Chris: Peace Out.
