Calvin L. Ritcher, 78
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Calvin Lester Ritcher, 78, of 61 Willow Dell died Wednesday, July 4, 2012, at Blair House in Worcester.
Born in Clarksburg on March 6, 1934, son of Elroy and Ada Braman LaRoche Raymond Ritcher, he attended schools in Clarksburg and North Adams.
Mr. Ritcher was employed by Williams College in Williamstown for 16 years until his retirement. He earlier had worked at the former Sprague Electric Co. and then as the bar manager at the Artery Lounge. After his retirement, he worked at VFW Post 996.
He was a member of First Baptist Church and was a life member of the Greylock Community Club. He was also a member of the Mountain Club and the Elks. He was an avid New York Yankees fan.
He leaves his wife, the former Evelyn King, whom he married on March 21, 1987; two daughters, Lillian Ritcher of North Adams and Carol Bessette of Virginia; three sons, Calvin Ritcher Jr. and Dana Ritcher, both of North Adams, and Alex Ritcher of the state of Florida; four stepchildren, Dawn LaPlante of Dalton, Deborah Dempsey and Donna Miller, both of North Adams, and Eugene Shade of Shirley; a sister, Caroline Brazeau of North Adams; two brothers, Robert Ritcher of Doreen, Ore., and Clarence Ritcher of Clarksburg; 12 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, eight stepgrandchildren, two stepgreat-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister and five brothers, Veronica Crockwell, Arthur Ritcher, Alfred Ritcher, Edward LaRoche, Henry Raymond and Theodore Raymond.
