Salvatore 'Sam' Grande, 94
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - Salvatore "Sam" Grande, 94, of 710 East Main St. died Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012, at North Adams Commons.
Born in North Adams on March 13, 1918, a son of Luigi and Antonia Remogilla Grande, he attended schools in North Adams.
Mr. Grande was employed for many years at the Liquor Mart.
He enjoyed sports and was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in North Adams.
His wife, the former Elizabeth A. Rowley Neville, whom he married in 1985, died June 16, 2011.
He leaves a stepdaughter, Marjorie Farquharson of Needham; a stepson, James Matthew Neville of North Adams; four stepgrandchildren, and nieces and nephews including Joanne Bernardi, John Birch and Jeffrey Birch.
He was predeceased by two sisters and five brothers Josephine Birch, Letizia Perra, Louis, Anthony, Michael, Joseph and John Grande.
FUNERAL NOTICE - A liturgy of Christian Burial for Mr. Grande will be celebrated Friday, Sept. 14, at 11 from St. Elizabeth's Church in North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
