David A. Neveu, 61

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — David A. Neveu, 61, of Belair Street, Brockton, died peacefully on Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, surrounded by family.

Born in North Adams on April 28, 1951, a son of Elizabeth Brice Neveu of North Adams and the late Alfred H. Neveu, he attended local schools and graduated from Broward Junior College in Florida and the College of Holy Cross in Worcester, from which he earned a degree in English literature.

Mr. Neveu was employed at Dismas House transitional program in Worcester and for various painting contractors.

A talented watercolor artist, his lovely paintings will be treasured forever by his family.

Besides his mother, he leaves two sisters, Linda O'Connell and her husband, Brian, of North Adams and Mary Leitch and her husband, James, of Adams; two brothers, retired Army Col. Michael Neveu and his wife, Jane, of Fort Worth, Texas, and James Neveu of Brattleboro, Vt.; a niece, Katherine Leitch; five nephews, Shaun O'Connell, Christopher O'Connell, Michael Neveu, Brian Neveu and Phillip Neveu, and a grandniece, Grace O'Connell.

FUNERAL NOTICE — Funeral services for Mr. Neveu will take place Thursday, Feb. 21, at 11 from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.

Memorial donations are suggested for HospiceCare in the Berkshires or to Blackinton Union Church through the funeral home.
