NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Connor Griswold scored in the second half to give the McCann Tech boys soccer team a 1-1 tie with Commerce on Thursday.

Commerce scored 30 seconds into the game, but the Hornets regrouped and got the equalizer in the second half.

“After coming off back-to-back wins, the boys played extremely well and carried that momentum into a hard-fought draw,” McCann Tech coach John Bresett said.

“I believe we dominated the second half, and the team grew more confident they could win.”

The Hornets had an apparent go-ahead goal waved off by an offsides call.

Andrew Levesque made 10 saves to earn the tie.

“I couldn’t be more proud than the way the team fought today, and moving forward this result is a huge step in the right direction,” Bresett said. “It was a shaky first 10 minutes, but then the boys got composed and settled into the game and flipped the switch to play a hard and challenging game.”

McCann Tech (2-4-1) has a makeup game with Pathfinder on Monday.
