PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- The Mahar boys soccer team Friday used strong defense to earn a 0-0 tie against Pittsfield at Kirvin Park.

“We held the majority of the possession, and created a number of half chances, but they won most of the battles in their defensive box and their keeper did a great job cleaning up the rest,” Pittsfield coach Andrew Antil said. “My guys played hard, and possessed well, but failed to get a good connection on the final shot.”

The Generals, who outshot the visitors, 12-7, got seven saves from Avi Snowise.

Pittsfield (4-4-1) goes to Mount Greylock next Friday.
