PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Taconic High’s Evan Blake brought the thunder and sent the Thunder to a 2-0 win over rival Pittsfield.

Matt Lee earned the win on the mound Thursday with a complete-game two-hitter as Taconic won its ninth straight to improve to 12-1.

Blake crushed an 0-1 pitch over the fence in left field to drive in the game’s only runs in the bottom of the sixth.

He drove in Gavin O’Donnell, who led off the inning with a single up the middle.

Lee laid down a sacrifice bunt to get O’Donnell into scoring position, and Pittsfield pitcher Cam Sime retired the next hitter on a line drive to Santino Arienti in right field.

That brought to the plate Blake, who recorded his second hit of the day with the game-winning homer.

It took a clutch performance by Lee in the top of the seventh to preserve that win.

Pittsfield loaded the bases with one out as Jake Duquette and Tommy Mullin worked walks and Connor Lavinio singled to right.

Lee then got the next two batters on strikeouts – his eighth and ninth Ks of the game – to end it.

Lee walked just two to go with the two hits in running his record to 5-0 with no runs allowed in 34-? innings.

Sime struck out six, walked one and allowed just four hits for the Generals.

Pittsfield (8-4) hosts West Springfield on Friday.

Taconic hosts Westfield on Friday.
