Polumbo Scores 200th in Mounties' Win

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Sarah Polumbo scored her 200th career goal, and 11 different Mount Greylock girls lacrosse players scored at least a goal in a 22-3 win over Pope Francis on Tuesday.
 
Polumbo hit her latest milestone in the first half, when the Mounties jumped out to a 16-0 lead.
 
Lexi Politis scored four times, and Ainsley Abel, Gianna Pesce and Phoebe Hughes finished with two goals apiece.
 
"Our young defensive unit shined today with an impressive display of teamwork and
tenacity," Mount Greylock coach Jeff Stripp said. "Adele Low, Tanley Drake and Sofia Asch rose to the occasion and showcased their potential as young rising stars."
 
Christy Rech and Teigan Brady split time in the Mount Greylock goal.
 
The Mounties (9-2) travel to Chicopee Comp on Thursday.
