Newberry Leads Mounties Past Lee

LEE, Mass. – Emma Newberry went 3-for-5 with a double and two RBIs Wednesday to lead the Mount Greylock softball team to a 12-2 win over Lee.
 
Kelsey MacHaffie also went 3-for-5 with a pair of runs batted in.
 
Kami Sweet and Mila Marcisz each doubled in a 15-hit Mount Greylock attack.
 
Sweet went the distance in the circle to pick up the win, striking out eight and walking one while allowing three hits.
 
One of those hits was a solo home run by Karalynn Hopkins, who went 2-for-3 and scored both Wildcat runs.
 
Lily Brancato had the other Lee hit, a double.
 
Bri Lynch struck out five and walked eight in the circle for Lee (0-1), which hosts Smith Vocational on Thursday.
 
Mount Greylock (1-1) hosts Pioneer Valley on Monday.
