SHEFFIELD, Mass. – Emma Goewey went 2-for-4 with a home run Friday to lead the Mount Everett softball team to an 8-0 win over McCann Tech.

Makayla Carpenter went 3-for-4 with a double, and Emily Steuernagle and Tonilyn Smith each went 2-for-3 for the Eagles (8-5).

“Three games in three days and these guys keep impressing me with their effort and ability to grind,” Mount Everett coach Joshua King said. “We had a lot of quality plays in the field, and our defense along with great pitching got us going today.

“The great thing again today is when we did make an error we shook it and got the next play. Another quick turnaround with St. Mary's coming to us for a 4 p.m. game.”

Julia Devoti struck out six and scattered seven hits in a complete-game effort to earn the win in the circle.

Miranda Ranzoni went 2-for-3 to lead McCann Tech’s offense.

The Hornets (8-6) host Drury on Tuesday.
