NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – Kayla McGrath Thursday scored 10 points in a balanced attack for Drury, which scored 20 points in the fourth quarter to take a 49-42 win from Lee.

Brooke Bishop and Alyssa Russell each scored eight points, and seven different Blue Devils scored in a 20-8 fourth quarter to erase a five-point Wildcat lead.

“We had a rough first and third quarters scoring the ball,” Drury coach Ian Downey said. “Our energy on defense in the first quarter just wasn’t there. My players didn’t give up though and they buckled down and played great defense the rest of the way.

That’s a good Lee team – well coached, execute their plays well and experienced. Those girls have played together all four year on the varsity level so I knew they were going to give us fits.”

Hannah LaCasse and Danielle Harnick each scored six points for Drury.

Emma Puleri scored 18 points, and Caroline Maloney had 12 to lead Lee.

“Lee is going to give their league and Division 5 fits with how hard they play, how well they execute and their experience,” Downey said. “Plus having Emma will always give them a chance. I thought she carried them throughout the game and really made us focus in on her in the second half.”

The Blue Devils (6-2) continue a stretch of eight games in 16 days on Friday when it hosts Mount Greylock.

Lee (4-1) is at Hoosac Valley on Friday.
