Paint Pottery, create beaded jewelry or try the art of Mosaic while you socialize and share creative energy with women from all over the county. Free refreshments and door prizes. Great for all ages! Stop by anytime between 12 and 3 and let the kids take part in a special instructor led project/class. Just call the studio to reserve your arrival time. Last child seated at 2:15 PM All ages welcome. Under 6 bring a "helping adult." Swirl Painting. Create a Easter Egg Box or Flower Vase. March 18 Open Studio Art Class for Kids. Great for all ages! Stop by anytime between 12 and 3 and let the kids take part in a special instructor led project/class. Just call the studio to reserve your arrival time. Last child seated at 2:15 PM All ages welcome. Under 6 bring a "helping adult." Learn to water color paint with glazes and create a candy/cookie mold to use during the Spring Holidays. From pottery to mosaics, customers may come in at their leisure, pick from hundreds of ready to paint pottery pieces that have been produced on site by Alexis Jones, Production Manager at Bisque, Beads & Beyond! and create their masterpiece. The Bisque, Beads & Beyond! studio features a private party room that is available for corporate get togethers, birthday parties, ladies nights out, scout badge meetings and more. Besides being a great place to explore the ceramic arts, Bisque, Beads & Beyond! features over 100,00 strands of imported and hand crafted beads in a full service create your own jewelry bead store. Customers can create their own jewelry at the studio and just pay for the beading materials they use. Bisque, Beads & Beyond is located at 370 Pecks Road, The Porter Plaza, Pittsfield. Hours: Sunday 12 :00 to 5:00 Monday and Friday 12:00 to 6:00 Tuesday and Thursday 12:00 to 9:00 Wednesday CLOSED Saturdays 11:00 to 6::00 Other hours are available for groups and private parties.

Pittsfield Affordable Housing Initiatives Shine Light, Hope

Housing Secretary Edward Augustus cuts the ribbon at The First on Thursday with housing officials and Mayor Peter Marchetti, state Sen. Paul Mark and state Rep. Tricia Farley-Bouvier.
PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The holidays are here and several community members are celebrating it with the opening of two affordable housing initiatives. 
 
"This is a day to celebrate," Hearthway CEO Eileen Peltier said during the ribbon-cutting on Thursday. 
 
The celebration was for nearly 40 supportive permanent housing units; nine at "The First" located within the Zion Lutheran Church, and 28 on West Housatonic Street. A ceremony was held in the new Housing Resource Center on First Street, which was funded by the American Rescue Plan Act. 
 
The apartments will be leased out by Hearthway, with ServiceNet as a partner. 
 
Prior to the ribbon-cutting, public officials and community resource personnel were able to tour the two new permanent supported housing projects — West Housatonic Apartments and The First Street Apartments and Housing Resource Center. 
 
The First Street location has nine studio apartments that are about 300 square feet and has a large community center. The West Housatonic Street location will have 28 studio units that range between 300 to 350 square feet. All units can be adapted to be ADA accessible. 
 
The West Housatonic location is still under construction with the hope to have it completed by the middle of January, said Chris Wilett, Hearthway development associate.
