Downtown Pittsfield Director Leaving05:56PM / Wednesday, June 04, 2014
PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Downtown Pittsfield Inc. is on the hunt for a new leader.
Pamela Tobin is resigning as executive director as of June 13, after just more than two years in the post.
"I am grateful for all of the opportunities bestowed upon me by the DPI board, our constituents and colleagues, especially to truly lead all involved to strategically be an economic engine in the community we serve," she said.
Tobin came to Pittsfield from Albany, N.Y., where she was executive director of the Downtown Albany Business Improvement District for 13 years. She plans to work full-time at her consulting firm, Tobin Consulting, which works with entrepreneur development and team leadership. She also works for health and wellness company Isagenix, which sells cleansing, weight-loss and energy products.
"Pam has played an important role in strengthening all of the activities of Downtown Pittsfield Inc. over the past two years," board President Kate Maguire said. "The entire Board of Directors joins me in wishing her well. We know that as our downtown community becomes more vital, so too, does our entire region."
DPI will begin a search for a new director immediately.
