LAKE PLACID, N.Y. -- The 2015 college ski season ended on Saturday with the fourth and final day of NCAA racing.
Christoph Lentz was the lone Williams skier competing in the four-day meet's final event, the slalom.
Lentz struggled some in his first run, coming in 32nd of 33 with a time of 1 minute, 26.56 seconds, more than 30 seconds back from Dominique Garand of Vermont who won the race and had a first run time of 58.08 seconds.
However, Lentz's second run of 1:22 was a much better representation of the skier's abilities. HIs total time ended up being 2:27.78, about 33 seconds behind Garand's total time of 1:55.03, proving that a majority of the time he lost was due to the fluke first run. Lentz was 31st in the field.
Lentz managed to score a single point for the day, bringing Williams total to 75 and leaving the ski team in 12th overall for the year, a respectable improvement of the 15th place and 47-point total of last year. Colorado overtook Utah to win the team competition, 388-381.
