LENOX, Mass. — The Berkshire Festival of Women Writers is hosting “Writing the Journey of Your Life” from June 5-7 at the Rookwood Inn.

The weekend retreat, with commuter and residency options, is the first of a series of three writing retreats for women planned at Rookwood Inn.

Led by Jennifer Browdy, Ph.D., founding director of the BFWW, professor of literature and writing at Bard College at Simon’s Rock and a memoirist herself, the retreat will provide structure and support for the woman memoirist in any stage of her writing journey, from working with the initial concept to fine-tuning the details and narrative arc. There will be opportunities for both individual work and group interactions.

Since 2011, the Berkshire Festival of Women Writers has been dedicated to nourishing and showcasing the voices of women writers of all ages, from many walks of life in Berkshire region.  In 2015 the organization expands its offerings to include year round events and digital presentations, including workshops, talks, performances, readings, screenings, publications, and other collaborations to support women’s creative voices.  For more information visit berkshirewomenwriters.org.

The Rookwood Inn is a lovingly restored fairy-tale Berkshires bed and breakfast with charming rooms, a grand front porch and elegant gardens. Special room rates are available for workshop participants; commuters are also welcome.

The tuition price of $425 includes four workshop sessions during the weekend, plus breakfasts, lunch and snacks. For registration and more information, visit Berkshirewomenwriters.org or email info@berkshirewomenwriters.org.
