DALTON, Mass. -- Carson Meczywor scored 27 points Sunday to lead the Adams travel boys basketball team to a 41-34 win over Greylock in the championship game of the Jim Horth Memorial Basketball Tournament.

Adams was able to take control of a back-and-forth game that saw Greylock hold a small lead in the fourth.

"Carson Meczywor just kept attacking the hoop and had a few [conventional three-points plays] to help Adams pull away in the last minute or so," Greylock coach Rick Paris said. "Carson was just playing really well, and we could not stop him.

"I'm just very proud of our kids. They played so hard all weekend. They had to battle through foul trouble all weekend long, but they never let up."

Derek Paris scored eight points to lead Greylock in the title game.

In Sunday's semi-final, Derek Paris hit four 3-pointers in a 20-point effort to lead Greylock to a 45-34 win over Dalton. Thomas Martin backed him up with seven points.

On Saturdya, Greylock defeated Adams, 36-32, behind eight points from Oliver Koscis and seven from Malcolm Waynick. Michael Faulkner came off the bench to hit a couple of big shots late in the win.

Greylock goes to the CYC tournament this weekend.
