Cultural Pittsfield This Week: Sept. 28-Oct. 4
| Hancock Shaker Village will hold its 21st annual Country Fair on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Take part in workshops, sit in on demonstrations, and compete in the hot sauce contest. Kid-friendly activities range from face painting and crazy balloon creations to egg tosses and chicken races. Regional food vendors and craft artisans will be on site, and the new Harvest of Quilts exhibit will be open for viewing. |

Filmgoers in Pittsfield will unite with over 100,000 film lovers around the world when the 21st annual Manhattan Short Film Festival screens at the Little Cinema. The final nine picks are screened simultaneously across the world during a one-week period, with the Best Film and Best Actor awards determined by ballots cast by the audiences in each participating venue. The finalists include intimate dramas, fast-paced animation, spine-tingling tales, a WWII epic and more.

The Lichtenstein Center for the Arts will feature Art and Sole, an exhibit of IS183 Art School faculty and student designed, altered and artfully enhanced shoes held in conjunction with the Elizabeth Freeman Center's Walk a Mile event. All proceeds from the show will benefit the Elizabeth Freeman Center and IS183 Art School's Learning Through Arts Program to help support women and families.
