Safe Homes For Kids

12:00AM / Sunday, October 09, 2005

Safe Homes of the Northern Berkshires is sponsoring a drawing contest for K – 5th grader students across Northern Berkshire County.

The winner’s art will be featured in the 2006 Safe Homes calendar that goes out to over 600 households and is distributed throughout the community. Children are encouraged to draw a picture in black on white paper telling us what they like to do in their town!

Underneath please write what the picture is about, name, address, town, telephone number, and grade level.

We will check with parents before publishing the winners. All winners will also get prizes. Please send or bring your drawing to the Northern Berkshire Community Coalition at 85 Main Street, #624, North Adams by October 21st 2005.

Safe Homes of North Berkshire is a network of parents who pledge that they:

1) Will be present at their teens’ parties and

2) Will not allow the illegal use of alcohol, drugs, or tobacco on their property.

A listing of “Safe Homes” parents is published in the Safe Homes calendar. Over 800 North Berkshire parents have signed the Safe Homes Pledge!

Safe Homes is a program of the Northern Berkshire Community Coalition and is made possible by funding from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. Contact Caroline Scully at cscully@nbccoalition.org or 663-7588 if you have any questions.
