North Adams - Chicken, hot dogs and 'burgers sizzled on grills, dunking booth volunteers were plunged into cool water, and family and friends gathered under canopy-style tents during a June 18 fundraiser held to benefit the Kevin Trombley Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Trombley, a 2005 Charles H. McCann Technical School graduate, was killed in November during a one-car Route 2 vehicle crash. He was 18 years old.

Stephanie Sacco accompanied her father, city police Lt. David Sacco, on a scholarship benefit motorcycle ride.
The scholarship event was hosted at the Mount Greylock Bowl. Business owner Gary Superneau donated the premises for the event, and bowling was offered at reduced rate. Bowling revenues benefited the scholarship fund. Revenues generated through a raffle, a barbecue chicken dinner, and sales of soft drinks and grilled items also were donated to the scholarship fund.

About 12 vintage and late-model vehicles, including a 1952 MG, a 2007 Dodge Caliber, and a 1968 Camaro, lined up for a small car show. About 20 motorcyclists participated in a scholarship benefit ride that began at Ronnie's Cycles in Adams and concluded at Mount Greylock Bowl.

Motorcyclists arrived at the Mount Greylock Bowl at about 1 p.m..

A 50/50 raffle held on June 16 during a Night Cruzer's event raised $200 for the fund and the donation was matched by NAPA business owner Darrell Roy, said Trombley's grandfather Davis Lewis, an automotive curriculum instructor at McCann school.

Chicken dinners proved popular.
Donations for the Kevin Trombley Memorial Scholarship may be sent to his parents, Jeff and Lisa Trombley, 54 Prospect St., North Adams, Mass., 01247. Any checks or money orders should be made out to the Kevin Trombley Memorial Scholarship Fund.
