BCC Appoints Doscher as Dean of Institutional Advancement

12:00AM / Wednesday, December 13, 2006

Pittsfield - Berkshire Community College has announced the appointment of Jeff Doscher to the position of Dean of Institutional Advancement.

According to BCC Interim President Paul Raverta, the newly created
position was approved by the BCC Board of Trustees last month in order
to increase support for the college through more vigorous fundraising
efforts.

“We need to be more proactive in finding support for our
college initiatives,” said Raverta.

Doscher, who was asked by Raverta to accept a reassignment from his
former position as Dean of Student Affairs, has taken on that
responsibility. In his new position, Doscher will also service as
Executive Director of the BCC Foundation, and will oversee the
Development and Public Relations departments. Angela Rawson, director of development, will continue to focus on the college’s annual campaign and other fundraising projects.

A 1969 graduate of John F. Kennedy College in Nebraska, Doscher has
more than 36 years of experience in counseling, teaching, staff
development, and college administration. He entered the field of
education in 1970 as a counselor at Greenfield Community College. He
came to BCC five years later as Director of Counseling and has been with the college ever since in a number of administrative positions.

Doscher also holds a master’s degree in counseling and student
personnel administration from Springfield College, and a C.A.G.S. in
community college administration and counseling from the University of
Massachusetts at Amherst. He and his wife, Donna, live in Pittsfield and are the parents of three children, Christopher, Lauren and Shaun.
