Candidate For School Committee - Pittsfield

A former 13-year School Committee member, George Desnoyers is seeking reelection in order "to speak out on some of the issues." A retired chemistry teacher and General Electric chemist, Desnoyers, 66, earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Boston College.

A former member of the state's Department of Education's testing advisory committee, Desnoyers said his interest in returning to the School Committee stems from the much-discussed communication problems plaguing the current committee.

"We really have to listen when people make suggestions from the outside. We need to make some changes," Desnoyers said.
