Ronald R. Krutiak, 58

CLARKSBURG, Mass. - Ronald Richard "Krute" Krutiak, 58, of West Cross Road died Friday, Aug. 7, 2015, after losing his hard-fought battle with metastatic melanoma. Born in Adams on Jan. 11, 1957, son of Dorothy Lagoy Krutiak of Adams and the late Edward Krutiak, he attended schools in Adams and was a 1975 graduate of Hoosac Valley High School. A longtime businessman, Mr. Krutiak started working at age 15 in his father's sawmill nailing pallets, and gradually made his way into the woods, working for Krutiak Logging for many years. While logging a job in Clarksburg, he saw the potential for his dream home, bought the property from his father and inadvertently laid the foundation for his business, Clarksburg Construction Co. Since this property was also the site of the former Chilson Gravel Bank, he was able to start a base operation and establish a thriving aggregate and trucking business. He was owner and president of this business for more than 30 years. He was very proud to be a small business owner and knew most of his customers as friends. He married the former Mary Cichy of Adams on Oct. 8, 1982, and had two beautiful children, Amanda, whom he warmly referred to as the pride and joy of his life; and Daniel, who though severely autistic, shared his father's love of four-wheelers and snowmobiles, enabling Mr. Krutiak to take him on many crazy rides through the woods. These high-speed pastimes were two of his "relaxation therapies," along with his passion for competitive dirt bike racing in his younger years, earning him the unforgettable nicknames of "Crazy Krute," "Wheelie King" and "Trail Master." Besides his amazing 90-year-old mother, with whom he was very close, and his devoted wife Mary, he leaves his daughter, Amanda Rosenburg and her husband, Michael, of Southampton; his son Daniel Krutiak of Clarksburg; a brother, James Krutiak and his wife, Patricia, of Adams; a sister, Kathy Krutiak and her husband, Paul Pinsonneault, of Savoy; seven nephews, Rodd Lanoue, Justin and Derek Pinsonneault, Christopher and Joseph Cichy, and Marc and Jason Krutiak; and four nieces, Caroline Malone, Colleen Poirier, Kathleen Cichy and Joanne Pena. His father died in 2014 and his brother Gerald Krutiak in 1978. FUNERAL NOTICE - Funeral services for Mr. Krutiak will be held on Saturday, Aug. 15, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, 25 Hoosac St., Adams, celebrated by the Rev. Steven Montesanti, pastor. Per his request, there will be no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to Pop Cares, PO Box 482, Williamstown, MA 01267. Paciorek Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

I will never forget Tuesday night dual-sport rides with Krut. We had some great times on the trails together. Ron was a good man, and he will be missed. My condolences go out to his family.

So sorry to hear of Ron's passing, I will always remember him riding his dirt bike through the sand bank on Bellevue Ave then stopping in for a snack or dinner, when Jim and I were first married.
