Guerrino Buratto, 88

LEE, Mass. — Guerrino “Reno” Buratto, 88, of Lee passed away peacefully surrounded by his devoted wife, Norma, and his loving family on Sunday, June 12, 2016.
Born in Pittsfield on November 11, 1927, the son of Bortolo and Candida Battistoni Buratto, he graduated from Pittsfield High School’s automotive training program. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II while being stationed in Panama. His first job was as an automobile salesman at Milton Motors Inc. of Pittsfield. He later purchased the business, renamed it South Street Motors and operated it until his retirement in 1992.
He was a communicant, as well as a Eucharistic minister, of St. Mary’s Church in Lee, a member of the Knights of Columbus and the G. Marconi Lodge of Sons of Italy. In his younger days he enjoyed hunting, gardening, reading and watching the Yankees. But, above all, Reno loved watching his grandchildren at their games.
Reno leaves his wife, the former Norma Ann DalBarco, whom he married October 16, 1954, and was blessed to celebrate their 61st wedding anniversary this past October. It was her unconditional love for him that allowed him to remain comfortably at home until his passing.
He is also survived by his five children, Peter Buratto and his wife Robin of Lee, Marc Buratto and his wife Wendy of Bellingham, Jane LePrevost and her husband Scott of Lee, Brian Buratto and his wife Michelle of Lee, Lisa Young and her husband Christopher of Lee; his daughter-in-law Deborah Rufo Buratto; 10 grandchildren, Meagan, Adam, Jillian, Garrett, Nicole, Jake, Nathan, Tyler, Alex and Stephanie; two great-grandchildren, Amia and Brianna; and his brother, John Buratto, and his sister, Mary Korte, both of West Stockbridge.
He was predeceased by his two children, Ann Bernadette and Michael Jay; and his brother Joseph.
