Celia N. Mirante, 87

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Celia N. Mirante, 87, of North Adams, Mass., died Tuesday, January 15, 2019, at Berkshire Medical Center.

She was born in North Adams, Mass., on January 20, 1931, daughter of Antonio and Rosaria (Pulanno) Mirante. She attended North Adams schools. Celia was last employed by the North Adams Public Library, where she worked for many years until her retirement.

She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Celia assisted in taking care of many of her family members.

Survivors include one brother, Edward Mirante of North Adams; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

She was predeceased by seven sisters and five brothers, including Anna Mirante, Rachel Canedy, Beatrice Mirante, Rita Mirante, Mary Aldrich, Letizia Mirante and Rachel Mirante in infancy, and Salvatore, Arthur, Theodore, James and Antonio.

Funeral notice: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Celia Mirante will be celebrated Wednesday, January 23, 2019, at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will be in the spring in Southview Cemetery.

A calling hour will be Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Families, Central Chapel, 74 Marshall St. North Adams, Mass. Donations may be made to Berkshire Meadows School in care of the funeral home.
