Donald DeMarsico,87

Donald Raymond DeMarsico, 87, of North Adams died on Thursday, April 29, 2021 peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.

Donald was born in North Adams on June 24, 1933 a son of the late Anthony & Mary Alice (Lanoue) DeMarsico. Donald attended schools in North Adams, including Drury High School. Donald was a decorated veteran of the Unites States Air Force during the Korean Conflict.

Donald was a long-time employee of the former Wall-Streeter Shoe Company in North Adams and of General Electric Company in Pittsfield. He was last employed at Big Y supermarkets in North Adams until he retired. Donald attended the First Baptist Church in North Adams. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, jarts, croquet and was an excellent horseshoes player. He loved spending time outdoors working around the yard as well as washing and waxing his car. Donald also enjoyed many cards games especially Pitch and Pinochle. Donald’s biggest joy in life was spending time with his family and friends. He will be remembered by all who knew him as a generous, hard-working man who was always willing to help others.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Ann (Blair) DeMarsico whom he married on July 1, 1961 at First Baptist Church in North Adams, 3 daughters, Laurie Jean Swint (Paul) of Pittsfield, Cheryl Anne Marciano (Mark) of Bradenton, FL, and Donna Mary Hunt (Brian) of North Adams. He also leaves four grandchildren; Michael Swint, Noah Hunt, Matthew Cote and Ashley Upton; three great grandchildren, Miranda, Grace, and Jasmine Upton; a sister, Phyllis Lefebvre and several nieces and nephews. Donald was predeceased by two brothers, Francis DeMarsico and Robert DeMarsico and a sister, Patricia LeClaire.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A private service to celebrate the life of Donald DeMarsico will take place at the Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Homes-WEST CHAPEL 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA 01247. Burial will follow in the family plot in Clarksburg Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Hospice Care of the Berkshires and Berkshire Humane Society.
