Alice Hunt, 92

Alice Marie (DeCoigne) Hunt 92, of North Adams died Wednesday January 25, 2023 at Craneville Place in Dalton. She was born in Tewksbury, MA. on January 15, 1931 a daughter of the late Albertine (DeCoigne) Lemelin. Alice moved to Williamstown at the age of ten and attended schools in Williamstown, graduating in 1949 from Williamstown High School.

She was emoloyd at Rudnick's Laundry and Sweetbrook Nursing home both in Williamstown. She was last employed as the clerk in the bakery department at the Big Y Supermarket in North Adams retiring in 2000. Alice loved having family dinners, attending concerts, and country fairs. Alice had many great adventures with her long time friends Cora Knight and Karen Lanier. Her dog "Mikey" was her loyal companion for many years. She cherished her many caregivers at Craneville Place of Dalton and took great comfort in their company.

Alice was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her husband Roy Stanley Hunt whom she married December 13, 1952 died March 26, 1982.

Survivors include her five children Thomas C. Hunt of Colorado, Timothy C. Hunt (Sally-Jo) of Cheshire, Bruce A. Hunt (Julie) of Bennington, VT., Bonnie A. Hunt of Pittsfield and Kathleen M. Malloy (Paul) of Cheshire, ten grandchildren Kendra, Brandy, Joshua, Travis Stephanie, Victoria, Heather, Brittany, Kayla and Haley. Alice also leaves her sister Jeannette Belanger and eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother Leo Lemelin.

Funeral Services to celebrate Alice Hunt Life will take place Tuesday January 31, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Home, WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA. Calling hours are Tuesday from 10:00a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown, MA. we both lived in the white oaks and worked at sweetbrook together 11-7 for years....many happy/sad/funny memories. Alice was always smiling and got us through some difficult nights. A wonderful caregiver to all, Sending her family my deepest sympathies.

To the entire Hunt family, I was so sorry to hear about Aunt Alice's passing, she was such a sweet lady. I have very happy memories of staying up on the Mohawk Trail with Bonnie and Kathy and Aunt Alice was always so nice to me. My deepest sympathies to the entire family.

Wow I was really surprised when my mom called and said you had passed. I remember lots of good times up on White oaks road. I remember you living many years at Mohawk Forest. Sorry our family has not been too close in recent years but the memories are still there you miss and love you Aunt Butch

Dear Sweet Alice oh how we could laugh when we worked 11-7 together. I would give you rides to work and we could talk about anything. I was 20 at the time , you became a family friend for years. My mother Gloria,Pat B, Donna, Carol, Evelyn, Dianne, Nancy, Ann, Sue, and Lorraine were part of the Sweet Brook team. No matter when I met up with you, we could talk, laugh and hug. You used to have a saying when we worked together that I use once in while it went like this, when things got bad at work I would say What do think Alice ? She would say," It's enough to make a minister swear. " We would laugh! I will miss you, Alice. Condolences to all of her children, your Mom was my friend.
