Frances E. Baker

Frances E. Baker, 94, of 710 Greylock St. died Saturday at home. Born in East Lee on May 22, 1908, daughter of William and Minnie Olds Ingraham, she was a 1926 graduate of Lee High School and a 1929 graduate of the School of Practical Art in Boston. During World War II, she was employed by Hurlbut Paper Co. in South Lee. Before her marriage in 1939, Mrs. Baker was employed as an artist in the greeting card department of the former Eaton, Crane & Pike Co. She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church, including the former Lee Methodist, Grace United Methodist in Lenox Dale and United Methodist Church in Lenox. She was a choir member, church school teacher and past president of its Women's societies. She enjoyed handiwork, gardening and watching wildlife in her backyard. Her husband, Sherman E. Baker, whom she married June 17, 1939, died Dec. 4, 1976. She leaves a daughter, Nancy J. Mosher of Lee. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Elenora to everyone who knew her well, was a kind mother and friend to everyone. Her son-in-law, Michael E. Mosher, also survives her. A brother, Edgar Ingraham, and her stepmother, Mattie Cummins Ingraham, predeceased her. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, Feb. 8, at 11 at United Methodist Church in Lenox, with the Rev. Eric Dupee, pastor, and the Rev. Robert Skidmore, retired Methodist minister, officiating. Visiting hours at KELLY FUNERAL HOME in Lee will be tomorrow, Feb. 4, from 4 to 7. In lieu of flowers, friends wishing may make donations to the United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
