Katherine B. St. Germain

Katherine B. St. Germain, 59, of 136 North Summer St. died Thursday evening at her home after an illness. Born in Adams on April 21, 1944, daughter of Theodore and Nellie Banas Kaczka, she attended Adams schools and graduated from the former Adams High School with the class of 1962. She also graduated from the postgraduate program at C.H. McCann Technical School, and had attended the former North Adams State College. Mrs. St. Germain last worked as an office clerk at Ouellette Plumbing and Heating in Adams for several years. Earlier, she had worked at Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams for 18 years, until it closed its main operation, and at J. Zepka & Sons Florists in Adams for several years. She was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church and a member of the Polish National Alliance. She enjoyed flowers, cooking and spending time with her family. She leaves her husband, Richard A. St. Germain, whom she married June 8, 1963; two sons, Richard C. St. Germain and Ronald T. St. Germain, both of Adams, and a granddaughter. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral will be held on Monday, March 1, at 9 from AUGE-PACIOREK-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St. Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams, celebrated by the Rev. Jed Sumampong, C.P. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours are Sunday afternoon from 2 to 5 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to St. Stanislaus Church, the Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice of Northern Berkshire, or United Cerebral Palsy of Northern Berkshire, through the funeral home. She also leaves a granddaughter, Nicole St. Germain of Adams, and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Her sister, Joanne Kuzia, died Nov. 9, 2001.
