Dr. Fieldman came to Pittsfield in 1996 as a medical resident at Berkshire Medical Center. Besides his parents, he leaves a brother, Anthony Fieldman of Brooklyn, N.Y., and his grandparents, Eva Fieldman and Eli and Pat Yaphe, all of Montreal. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Jordan B. Fieldman, age 38, died June 1, 2004. Dr. Fieldman's caring, compassion and insistence in treating the whole person were characteristic of how he used his own experiences as a vehicle for his personal mission as a teacher and healer. Dr. Mark C. Pettus, associate director of the Internal Medicine Training Program at Berkshire Medical Center and a friend, said, "Dr. Fieldman was an exceptional teacher and his range of teaching interests encouraged his view of world health, including a wide spectrum of how he engaged others. He was most prolific in expressing his views in writing and teaching. Dr. Fieldman was an activist as a physician and healer for reform in medical education, health care organization and delivery, and addressed our system of care in being at the forefront of reform. He was a vociferous advocate of all matters related to health, including national government policy." A memorial service will be conducted today, June 2, at 6:30 p.m. at Kripalu Center in Lenox by Rabbi Barbara Cohen and Monshin Paul Naaman. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made to one of the following organizations that were important to Dr. Fieldman: HospiceCare in the Berkshires, the Kushi Institute, Kripalu Center, cancer research, or Berkshire Medical Center in care of DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME.
