Suzanne Sheridan

Suzanne Sheridan, 72, of Lincoln Lane, formerly of Hanover, Pa., and Towson, Md., died Wednesday at home. Born in Larchmont, N.Y., on Feb. 16, 1933, daughter of Kenneth H. and Adelaide Wright Stevens, she attended schools in Pelham Manor, N.Y. She also attended Wheaton College in Norton. She earned a bachelor's degree from Maryland's College of Notre Dame. Mrs. Sheridan was employed by the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge. She also worked for the Lacrosse Foundations and other organizations in the greater Baltimore area. Active in the community for more than 20 years, she volunteered for the Trustees of Reservations and was a trustee of the Stockbridge Library Association. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and creative painting. An avid reader, she especially enjoyed history and took many course offerings through the Berkshire Institute of Lifelong Learning. She enjoyed all the cultural offerings of the Berkshires, especially the Norman Rockwell Museum and Hancock Shaker Village, and going to craft fairs with friends. She leaves two daughters, Sally W. Sheridan of Oklahoma City and Barrett C. Sheridan of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; a son, Richard C. "Chip" Sheridan III of Catonsville, Md., and five grandchildren. She also leaves her former husband, Richard C. "Champ" Sheridan Jr. of Baltimore. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Memorial Service for Suzanne Sheridan will be Saturday, June 18, at 2 at the First Congregational Church in Stockbridge. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires Inc., P.O. Box 428, Great Barrington, MA 01230, or the Stockbridge Library Association, P.O. Box 119, Stockbridge, MA 01262. The FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME, 426 Main St., Great Barrington, is in charge of arrangements. She leaves five grandchildren, Alexander S. and Thomas W. Baumgarten, and Madeline C., Nicholas and Olivia Sheridan; her son-in-law, Roger H. Baumgarten; her daughter-in-law, Suzanne McLaughlin Sheridan; her niece, Johanna B. Musselman of Shrewsbury, and her nephew, Henricus G.A. "Hank" Bergmans of Columbia, S.C. She was the sister and companion of the late Sarah S. "Sally" Bergmans of Stockbridge.
