Ann C. Baer

Ann C. Baer, 60, of 14 Cherry Hill Road died Sunday at home of cancer. Born in Laconia, N.H., on Oct. 19, 1944, daughter of John and Lee Osborne Robinson, she grew up in Huntington, N.Y., and was educated in schools there. She had resided in Stockbridge for 40 years. After 15 years of home stitching for Country Curtains, she decided to return to college to pursue a career in health care. A 1993 graduate of Berkshire Community College, she worked as a home health aide, residential care provider and visiting nurse for the Lee Regional Visiting Nurse Association. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Lee, where she was a regular volunteer and lector, and a member of the Daughters of Mary and the Adoration Society of Our Ladies Oratory. She enjoyed baking, singing and going to tag sales. She and her husband, George T. Baer, would have celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary July 4. Besides her husband, she leaves three sons, John T. Baer of East Providence, R.I., Jeffrey G. Baer of Syracuse, N.Y., and Mark L. Baer of Pittsfield; two brothers, John B. Robinson of Albany, N.Y., and Mark Robinson of Gilford, N.H.; three sisters, Karen Corboy of Blacksburg, Va., Kathleen Vail of Pensacola, Fla., and Joan Robinson of Blandford, Conn. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Ann C. Baer, who died Sunday, June 26, 2005, will be Thursday at 9:15 a.m. from KELLY FUNERAL HOME in Lee, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in Lee. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Stockbridge. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, friends wishing may make donations to HospiceCare in the Berkshires, Lee Regional VNA, Fairview Hospital or Southern Berkshire Ambulance Squad, all in care of the funeral home, 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238. She was predeceased by her brother, Matthew. She was known as a gracious and generous woman, brimming with joy, and was quick to lend an ear, open her home or bake a fresh loaf of bread for anyone in need. If asked for a list of her favorite things, she would surely reply with "singing, tag saling, family and friends, and praising the Lord"... not necessarily in that order.
