Thomas W. Ciuk

Thomas W. Ciuk, 90, a former resident of Camp Hill, Pa., died Saturday at Claremont Nursing Center in Carlisle, Pa. He was a native of Adams. Born on Aug. 5, 1916, son of Jacob and Anna Miliczek Ciuk, he was a 1934 graduate of the former Adams High School. An Army veteran of World War II, he served as a lieutenant in North Africa. Mr. Ciuk retired from the Mechanicsburg (Pa.) Naval Supply Depot. A former resident of Pittsfield, he previously owned and operated a variety store on Elm Street and was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Mechanicsburg, where he served as an usher. He volunteered with the Girl and Boy Scouts of America and with the American Red Cross. He enjoyed small-game hunting, hiking and canoeing. His wife, the former Margaret E. Raub, died in 1982. He leaves a daughter, Theresa A. Scheib of Lewisberry, Pa.; two brothers, Chester T. Ciuk and Michael Ciuk, both of Adams; and two grandchildren. A son, Thomas Charles Ciuk, died 1962. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Mass of Christian Burial for Thomas W. Ciuk, who died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007, will be celebrated tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church in Mechanicsburg, Pa. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Duncannon, Pa. Viewing will be from 9 to 10 a.m. tomorrow at MALPEZZI FUNERAL HOME, Mechanicsburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. He also leaves two grandchildren, Robyn and Jake Scheib, both of Lewisberry, Pa. He was a wonderful and loving husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed. He was predeceased by three brothers, Joseph, Stanley and George Ciuk, and by three sisters, Julia Ethier, Lucy Flood and Victoria LaPierre.
