Kathleen I. Storie

Kathleen I. Storie, 63, of 42 Baker St., died Monday afternoon at Berkshire Medical Center after a long battle with cancer. Born in Pittsfield on April 25, 1944, daughter of Stanley and Janet Osak Zaorski, she was a 1962 graduate of Pittsfield High School and a 1964 graduate of the former St. Luke's Hospital Nursing Surgical School. Mrs. Storie was employed for several years as a surgical technician at the former St. Luke's Hospital and Hillcrest Hospital. She was a resident of Lanesborough most of her life. She was a communicant of Holy Family Church in Pittsfield. She enjoyed bowling, arts and crafts, painting, flower gardening, and cats and birds of all varieties. She leaves her husband, David J. Storie, whom she married Jan. 16, 1965, in Holy Family Church; a son, Glen S. Storie of Pittsfield; three daughters, Lisa K. Dean of Pittsfield, and Deborah A. Storie and Andrea L. Overbaugh, both of Lanesborough; three sisters, Barbara Croteau of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Ann Harrison of Dalton, and Jane Langer of Lee; and six grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Kathleen I. Storie died in Pittsfield on Monday, July 2, 2007. The funeral will be conducted Monday at 1 p.m. at DWYER FUNERAL HOME by the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor of St. Charles Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to HospiceCare in the Berkshires, care of the funeral home, 776 North Street, Pittsfield, MA 01201. Loving grandmother to Michael and Jessica Storie, Jaclyn and Melanie Dean and Nicole and Nathan Overbaugh. Beloved mother-in-law to Jeffrey Dean and Timothy Overbaugh. She also is survived by her son's fiancée, Beth Hall. Mrs. Storie also leaves several nieces and nephews.
