Stanley "Birdie" DiLallo

Stanley "Birdie" DiLallo, 58, of George Street died Thursday at Albany (N.Y.) Medical Center after a 10-year battle with lymphoma. Born in Schenectady, N.Y., on Aug. 4, 1949, son of Lawrence and Constance Roberts DiLallo, he graduated from Mohonesen High School and Hudson Valley Community College. He served in the Air National Guard for six years. Mr. DiLallo retired from Niagara Mohawk after 35 years as a technician in the power generation division. He was a member of the Rotterdam (N.Y.) Elks and of the Harris Bay Yacht Club in Lake George, N.Y. A vintage car enthusiast, he enjoyed NASCAR, cooking, gardening and spending winters in Daytona Beach, Fla. He and his wife, the former Kim E. Heisler, were married Sept. 6, 1997. Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Christopher DiLallo of Rotterdam Junction, N.Y.; a daughter, Lisa DiLallo of Guilderland, N.Y.; and two brothers, Alexander DiLallo of Fort Ann, N.Y., and his twin, Lawrence DiLallo of Rotterdam. FUNERAL NOTICE --Services for Stanley "Birdie" DiLallo, who died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2007, will be Tuesday at 11:15 a.m. from KELLY FUNERAL HOME in Lee, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at noon at St. Mary's Church in Lee celebrated by the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor of St. Charles' Church in Pittsfield. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 9 to 11:15 a.m. at Kelly Funeral Home. There also will be visiting hours tomorrow, Oct. 28, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Demarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam, N.Y. Memorial donations may be made to the Cancer Resource Foundation, in care of Kelly Funeral Home 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238. Family and friends were a great joy to him, and he loved his dog, Rossi. He also is survived by his daughter-in-law, Nancy; his sister-in-law, Judy; his former wife, Maureen Nero of Guilderland, N.Y.; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Bird was the word and you were the big Bopper! You were the best friend one could ask for and the wasn't anybody who could make us laugh as you did. Sorry we lost touch over the years but hopefully we'll meet again!
