WESTFIELD, Mass. – Henrik Bingemann converted a penalty kick midway through the second half to break a 1-1 tie and send the Mount Greylock boys soccer team on to a 3-1 win over Westfield on Monday.

The Mounties (1-1-1) scored the game’s first goal midway through the first half when Liam O’Keefe found the back of the net.

With just two minutes left until half-time, the Bombers got an own goal to level the score.

“The own goal at the end of the first half could have sent us into a tailspin, but the boys responded well in the second half,” Mount Greylock coach Blair Dils said. “Henrik put the game away with his second goal.”

Dylan Navarez assisted on Bingemann’s second goal to provide the final margin in the 75th minute.

Dan Warren stopped eight shots to earn the win in goal.

Mount Greylock hosts Monument Mountain on Thursday.
