WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Bashiru Sowe scored in the 77th minute to break a scoreless tie and send the Pittsfield boys soccer team on to a 1-0 win over Mount Greylock on Monday night.

Samseedy Touray set up Sowe for the game-winner, his second in the last two games for the Generals.

Reese Cook-Dubin made four saves to keep a clean sheet in Pittsfield’s goal.

“So proud of the boys fight tonight in terrible conditions,” Pittsfield coach Ryan Wanek said. “We kept fighting for the deciding goal and were able to break through with minutes remaining.

“Defense was a rock today all game long. The only negative thing I have to say is that we still need to release the ball off our feet faster and stop trying to dribble through everyone. Overall, great win heading into Western Mass.”

Pittsfield (5-9-2) and Mount Greylock (8-6-1) learn Tuesday who they will face in the quarter-finals of the Class B and Class C Western Mass Tournaments, respectively.
